Last week the organisation uploaded a statement onto Facebook saying this year’s show had been cancelled due to lack of volunteers.
However, they are now encouraging any interested individuals to come to an information evening next month to ensure it continues in the future.
A spokesperson said: “Berkeley Agricultural Society will not be running Berkeley Show this show due to a lack of volunteers.
“However, we will be running a series of small events throughout the year.
“Further details will be published nearer the time. Thank you for your support of Berkeley Show in the previous years.
“We invite all that feel like they can spare their time and effort to take part in managing and shaping the future of the show to join us at a meeting at the Farmers Table, Tortworth Farm Shop on March 7 at 7.30pm.”
Every year thousands normally flock to the show at Berkeley Castle for activities and stalls focusing on the traditional and agricultural values of the countryside.
