A Boeing 747 aircraft has reportedly departed Cotswold Airport for the first time in 40 years.
The 747, formerly owned by Corsair international was delivered to Air Salvage International at Cotswold Airport at the beginning of the summer.
On Wednesday, the aircraft departed the airport for Pinal County Airpark, a plane graveyard in Arizona.
It’s thought to be the first Boeing 747 to depart from Cotswold Airport since the 1980s.
Air Salvage International tweeted: “This Boeing747 departed our fully accredited Cotswold Airport MRO facility.
“We’ve been handling the short term storage and support of this aircraft on behalf of a global leasing company.”
