Stroud resident Claire Webb has raised £1000 for Macmillan after courageously undergoing the charity’s Brave the Shave initiative on August bank holiday Friday.
Sponsored by Alison Birch of AJ Hairdressers, who offered her services for free, Claire underwent the chop as part of a summer fundraising challenge.
“I took the challenge in the hope this would help people with the care Macmillan provide daily,” said Claire.
“I would like to thank everyone for the support and the amazing amount of sponsorship I received for Macmillan nurses.”
Some of Claire’s family and friends came to offer her moral support at the shave on Friday, and made the experience “a lot of fun.”
“Having no hair at the moment is actually not a big thing when I have received so much support and in any case, it will grow back quick enough.”
