THE OWNERS of a pub near Stroud are to leave due to ‘rising costs’ in the business.
They will leave the Britannia Inn, Nailsworth, on Sunday (January 29).
“It is with a heavy heart we have to announce the closure of the Britannia,” read the post on social media.
“We are devastated to be the latest victim to the rising costs in almost every area of our business, and continuing on has just become impossible.
“We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our customers whose support has been unwavering.
“As a business we’d also like to thank our staff who have been part of our family for the last three years.
“We are so proud of all of your hard work and dedication, you truly are a wonderful bunch!
“Our sister pubs the Black Horse and Village Inn remain open and ready for you, so you won’t be rid of us completely and we hope to see you there for a drink very soon.”
