Police are appealing for witnesses after three vehicles travelling along the A419 were struck with large rocks.
At around 8.30pm last night, the vehicles were struck whilst travelling along the A419 northbound, near to the White Hart roundabout.
It is believed they were thrown from a grass verge.
PC Ben Cox said: “During this incident, serious damage was caused to the windscreen of a HGV and two car windscreens – a Volkswagen Polo and a Vauxhall Corsa. It is extremely fortunate that nobody was injured.
“This kind of behaviour is completely mindless and could so easily have resulted in serious injury to multiple road users.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen who was responsible, as well as any other drivers who may have been affected but have not yet contacted police.
“We’d also urge any drivers who were using the A419 at around 8.30pm who may have dash cams fitted to their vehicles to get in touch as you may have unknowingly captured vital footage.”
If you have any information, call Wiltshire Police on 101 and quote log number 348 of October 23.
It isn’t the first time that rocks have been thrown at cars on the road.
Earlier this year, police lambasted a reckless idiot who threw a rock at a police car from an A419 roadside.
