Cirencester man gets suspended prison sentence for ‘prolonged attack’

A CIRENCESTER man has been given a suspended prison sentence after being convicted of assault.

Jordan Day, 22, of Haygarth Close, pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm but was found guilty of the offence when he appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on October 1.

Magistrates heard how Day carried out a prolonged physical assault on the victim in his own bedroom in Cirencester on March 14.

Day was ordered to pay compensation of £500 and pay costs of £1,052.
