A Cirencester dining venue and social hotspot has announced a food partnership with Indian food supremo – Foyez Rahman.

Andy Sampson, owner of Somewhere Else in Castle Street and Foyez have often considered a pop-up collaboration so, with Covid-19 restrictions continuing to impact on the hospitality sector, they saw this as an opportune time to team up.

“We’ve been in constant touch with our regulars through social media,” said Andy.

“The resounding sentiment is that they can’t wait to get back to some form of social life and booking their first meal out, even under restricted circumstances will be the first call many will make.”

Somewhere Else, renowned for cocktails, tapas, contemporary brunch and lunchtime fare have partnered with Mr Rahman’s culinary team to create Asha Indian Kitchen and Somewhere East, an Asian influenced offering.

“Whilst we appreciate that we will be restricted to deliveries, click and collect and takeaway in the short term, we believe that Asha will give our combined friends and clientele a taste of luxury under lockdown, with the prospect of more exciting developments to follow,” added Andy.

Asha, which translates as ‘Hope and Prospect’, is “a fusion of two different food cultures resulting in a contemporary style, a merging of Asian flare and flavours with fast moving UK and European culinary trends,” said business partner – Foyez Rahman.

“It is a great opportunity to bring my family with me, my uncle, Khaled Miah, has been cooking great Indian food in the area since 1980 and before that was at a great restaurant that really set the trend in West Kensington.”

All day brunch’s, lunches and light bites will still be a staple for returning regulars, when restrictions are lifted, as well as favourite tandoor dishes and ever popular staples including Madras, Bhuna and Biryani.

Deliveries, collections and takeaways are now available from 5pm to 9pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and from 5pm to 9.30pm on Friday and Saturday’s.

To order, call 01285 643199 or 07158 637240.
