A closure order has been imposed on a house in Cirencester following concerns children were going their to take drugs.
Various members of the public had expressed concerns, prompting the Cotswolds neighbourhood policing team to apply for the order which was granted at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday
It will be in effect until January 2020 and prevents anyone other than the tenant and their relatives from entering the address.
Inspector Simon Ellson from the Cotswolds neighbourhood policing team said: “The Cotswolds neighbourhood policing team are determined to ensure residents in the district can live free from the effects of drug use and associated issues such as ASB in their local communities.
“Closure orders are an important tool for us to stop this behaviour and allow us to restrict who can attend the locations.
“I would like to thank the officers and partners involved in their hard work to obtain the orders. If members of the public believe drugs are being used in their communities please report it to us.”
Closure orders are designed to tackle serious and persistent forms of antisocial behaviour. Anyone with any information about any breach should call 101. Information can also be reported online.
