A team of cyclists will attempt to cycle 258 miles in 24 hours to raise money for charity.

Daniel Boulton, George Wise and Jamie Bonthron will be saddling up tomorrow in Tetbury before hopefully arriving at the Eiffel Tower in Paris just 24 hours later.

Setting off at 1.30pm, the trio will leave Tetbury, cycling 141 miles to Newhaven Ferry port before saying au revoir England.

With only a few hours to rest their weary eyes and legs they will dock in France, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

From Dieppe they’ll head 109 miles to the Palais de Chaillot – right in front of the Eiffel Tower.

This second leg will be a race against the clock to reach the finish before 1.30pm on Saturday.

The team will be entirely unaided and have completely self-funded the challenge.

For Dan, it’s not the first time he has attempted the challenge, as he attempts the time trial for the third time.

He first tried the challenge in 2014, but was hampered by a broken sat nav.

And he agonisingly missed out last year by less than an hour, after his partner for the challenge dropped out early on due to sickness.

However, Dan won’t let that deter him and he is hoping for third time lucky.

He said: “Being the 3rd trip of “to Paris” that I’ve been involved in, I’m really happy to say we have collectively raised over £6,000 for the respective charities since 2014.

“The goal is very simple – to raise as much money as possible to a cause close to all our hearts – Prostate Cancer UK.

“We have self-funded all expenses for the trip so rest assured every penny raised will go directly to the charity and will be massively appreciated by all of us, and most importantly by the charity.

“We can’t thank you enough for donating it really does mean a lot to us and we will use all your help to motivate us when the going gets tough.”

So far, the team have raised more than £2,600, smashing their £2,000 target.
