Dog walk erupts into violence as elderly man attacked in unprovoked assault

An elderly man was attacked in an unprovoked assault while walking his dog in Maisemore, near Gloucester, according to Gloucestershire police.

The incident happened in the Telford Bridge area at around 3pm on Thursday February 14.

A male and female were walking their dog, believed to be a white and grey Staffordshire Bull Terrier, in the area at the same time when an altercation between the dogs ensued.

Police want to hear from witnesses to an attack on an elderly man

Police said the female began shouting at the victim and hit him in the face and head.

The female is described as white, in her early 20s, 5ft 6ins tall, well built, with short brown hair – just below her ears.  She was wearing an orange top and blue jeans.

 

The male is described as being slightly younger than the female, white, slim build and wearing a light blue denim jacket and blue denim jeans.

It is believed that the couple walk their dog regularly in the area.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information as to who the dog owners may be and any potential witnesses to come forward.
