A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been fined £120 after he was convicted of driving without insurance and without a valid licence.

Mattie Lyon, of Ramsbury Avenue, Swindon, pleaded guilty to both offences when he appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on November 20.

Magistrates heard how Lyon was caught driving on the A417 London Road, Cirencester, without insurance or a licence on July 6.

Lyon was fined £120, ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and costs of £85, totalling £239.

Eight penalty points were also added to his driving licence.
