While MOT exemptions have been granted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the usual rules on vehicle tax still apply.

Seven drivers in the North Cotswolds were hit with £1,000 fines today.

A tweet from Cotswolds Police stated: “Remember that your vehicle still needs tax during lockdown!

“The weather has kept the tourists away in the North Cotswolds so the NPT have been patrolling towns and villages checking vehicles.

“7 vehicles have been given tickets with a max fine of £1000 and reported to the DVLA.”
