The incident is alleged to have taken place at a property in Brighton between December 1981 and May 1982.
The man is charged under the Sexual Offences Act 1956.
The defendant, who is aged in his 60s and lives in Dursley, was due to attend Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 30.
