THESE fabulous photographs of the Red Arrows at RAF Fairford were taken yesterday evening by Justin Collinge.
The world famous aerobatic display team arrived at RAF Fairford yesterday (Friday).
Justin said: “It was so nice to be able to see them as it has been such a long time and with air shows still not going ahead again this year I was so pleased to be able to have the opportunity to see them in the air.”
He said that at first it was quite difficult to get a good shot, as the sun was low and he was looking directly towards the sun, but he managed to capture them as they took off.
“Before they took off they went all the way to the end of runway 9, the sun was behind them as they came towards us and took off at runway 27,” he said.
“It was a bit tricky as we were looking directly towards the sun. But as they took off in their formations, I was able to get quite a few very clear and crisp shots.”
RAF Fairford is being used to provide an overnight stop for the Red Arrows to refuel, but not for a display.
The planes arrived yesterday afternoon and will leave today (Saturday), at 12.45pm to a display elsewhere, before returning once more to refuel.
Their final departure will be at 4pm today.
