Family thanks community for help in finding missing dog

A FAMILY holidaying in Chalford has thanked the ‘wonderful, caring community’ who helped find their missing dog.

It has been a happy ending for the much loved pet who disappeared in Chalford this morning after being startled by a group of hot air balloons.

Black and white collie Bindi ran off after five hot air balloons flew over Chalford Vale at around 7.30am.

Her owners were very concerned as they are currently holidaying in the village – and Bindi does not know the area – so they reached out to the wider public in a bid to get her back home.

Following an appeal on the SNJ website, Bindi was spotted in Bisley, where villagers kept her safe until her owners could get there.

“Thanks to the incredible kindness of the people around here, and the positive power of social media, our border collie was found at Bisley, covered in burrs and other stuff,” said Bindi’s owner Fiona Campbell.

“We are so grateful to David, who caught her and looked after her until we could get to Bisley, and to Felicity and Sophie who managed to contact us.

“We would like to say thank you to everyone who promised to keep an eye out for her and who literally showered us in concern.

“You have a wonderful caring community.”
