Fish counter in Stroud supermarket to close imminently

This is according to a sign left by the fish counter at the Tesco superstore in Stratford road.

It will close on Saturday, April 30.

Tesco have said that are ‘sorry for any inconvenience caused’, claiming that shoppers can ‘find a great range of alternatives in-aisle.’

In February Tesco announced that 317 of its stores across the UK would see major changes in a bid to meet changes in customer habits.

Tesco said it would shut meat, fish and deli counters across 317 of its stores and close its Jack’s discount supermarket arm.

The supermarket chain would be left with only 279 stores with meat, fish and deli counters after a “decrease” in the number of customers using these on a regular basis across its shop portfolio.

It said it would “repurpose” the counters across the 317 stores impacted by its latest counter closure plans.

Colleagues affected by this move were to be offered alternative roles, it added.
