A spokesperson for Gloucestershire County Council has since said: “Following routine checks we found that a coach company had been operating a vehicle without an MOT.
“As a result we removed them from our list of approved operators and terminated their two home-to-school contracts.
“These services are being covered by alternative operators and the schools have been informed.
“Random checks on our contractors’ vehicles are conducted on a daily basis as safety is our highest priority.
“We have informed the Traffic Commissioner and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) of these serious safety breaches as they have the legal power to take action.”
