Two schoolgirls have raised thousands of pounds in memory of their grandmother.

Maisie and Lillie Hampton-Neale, along with their cousins Eddie and Emma Neale, organised a charity cake sale to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Their Nanny passed away from the disease in April.

The children, who attend Kings Stanley Primary School, raised just shy of £2500. This included £685 from an online fundraising page for anyone unable to attend the cake sale and a donation of £1,030 from local furniture store Howdens.

Mum Clare said: “The girls did all the organising, deciding what cakes they wanted at the sale, asking family and friends to help. The girls baked all day the day before the event and helped set up on the day, served cake and even helped tidy up.”
