Girls football sessions at Archway, Stroud

A NEW girl’s youth team could be created following the folding of a club in Stroud.
Cashes Green Football Club folded after 74 years in August.

But there are plans to create a Cashes Green girls team – or at least training sessions for females who want to play.

“It started with an informal conversation between Clive Eckersall and Jeni Marshall, Clerk of Cainscross Town Council when they had been discussing the recent folding of Cashes Green FC and what happens next for the club,” said a spokesperson for Cainscross Parish Council.

“A moment in conversation between them sparked an idea of a new girl’s youth team, a perfect fit with Clive’s extensive knowledge and the council facilities, along with being able to create another opportunity for local youth in the community.

Contact Cashes Green Community Centre to book a place on the taster session on Sunday, December 4 between 12pm and 1pm.

It takes place at Archway Sports Centre and is suitable for 5-10 year olds.
