A GLOUCESTERSHIRE grandfather has gone on trial accused of repeatedly sexually abusing his own grandson – often in front of the five-year-old’s dad.
The grandfather has pleaded not guilty at Gloucester Crown Court yesterday (Monday) to four counts of sexual assault between October 2016 and September 2018. His son – the little boy’s father – has denied one count of child cruelty between the same dates.
The alleged offences are said to have occurred in Wotton under Edge.
The boy told his maternal grandmother about the abuse from his paternal grandfather and said that his father knew what was happening as he had been in the same room at time.
The jury was shown a video of the boy being interviewed by the police.
The names of the father and son are not being published in order to protect the identity of the boy.
