A crash between a lorry and a car in Gloucestershire has closed a major road linking Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
The incident happened on the A44 near Blockley in the Cotswolds this morning and casualties have been taken to hospital.
The lorry had overturned at Five Mile Drive and the road has since been completely closed between Troopers Lodge and the turn for Chipping Campden
This is affecting traffic heading from Evesham towards Stow-on-the-Wold.
A police spokesman said: “We were called to the A44 near Blockley shortly before 9.30am following reports of a collision involving a lorry and car.
“A road closure is currently in place so that the vehicles can be recovered.
“The occupants of the vehicles have been taken to hospital for their injuries to be assessed.”
The collision and its aftermath has caused very slow traffic between the B4081 at Chipping Campden and the A424 at Bourton On The Hill.
Gloucestershire police said: “We are dealing with an accident on the A44 at File Mile Drive between a car and HGV.
“The HGV is on its side so officers have had to close the road between Troopers Lodge and the B4081 turn for Chipping Campden.
“Please find an alternate route.”
