Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone lager is best seller on Amazon

JEREMY Clarkson, TV presenter turned Cotswold farmer, has launched his own lager.

Called Hawkstone, it uses barley grown on his farm and is produced by The Cotswold Brewing Company.

The Clarkson’s Farm host, 61, saw his new beer become the UK’s number one selling beer on Amazon just eight hours after it was launched, less than a week ago.

It is now outselling well-known brands like Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois.

The lager came about after Jeremy found the ‘hard and unforgiving’ Cotswold Brash soil on his farm yielded unusually high quality malting barley which is perfect for brewing.

He teamed up with the Cotswold Brewery’s Rick and Emma Keene, based at Bourton-on-the-Water, to create the ‘very highest quality premium lager’, naming it after the Neolithic standing stone situated close to Jeremy’s farm.

The former Top Gear presenter bought his farm in Chipping Norton in 2008 and took over running it when the farmer retired in 2019.

His exploits on the renamed Diddly Squat farm are featured in the popular documentary series Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime.
