Labour MEP Clare Moody was in Stroud this afternoon ahead of next week’s Eu elections.
Clare, who was elected as an MEP in 2014, is major of Labour’s list of appliers for the south west and Gibraltar region.
The person met residents on Stroud High Street from 12. 30-2pm before going onto canvass electors elsewhere in the town.
Speaking about the town Clare said: “Stroud is an important put it in the south west. It has their own distinctive character. There are David (Drew, MP) on this website who is wonderful. It’s adorable to be back. ”
On top of why voters should get Labour she said the nation was only still contained in the EU because of them.
“This is about individuals deliver. We have three times identified as against Brexit. We have selected as twice for a referendum. Excellent about who will represent Stroud and the south west. I have your five years experience, ” the singer added.
Speaking about her support for a Human beings Vote the former trade unionist said: “The promises within what Leave would appear ranged from a Norway substitute for the easiest trade deal in creation. None of what was said merely leave campaigners has proved to be realism. “It’s giving a voice to be able to the people. ”
Clare also spoke close to news Swindon’s Honda place would be closing in 2021.
“Honda is one of many job losses unveiled. It’s a major one in our area.
“The Japanese ambassador has been clear about the negative impact on the economy as a cause of Brexit. All of this is happening before we have fair left, ” she pronounced.
The European elections are taking place on Wednesday, May 23.
