Time has nearly run out for people wanting to take part in this year’s Swimarathon.
The annual event, organised by Thornbury Rotary Club, sees teams swimming length after length in the name of charity.
Having run for over 30 years, this year’s Swimarathon is taking place from March 1-3 at Thornbury Leisure Centre.
The Rotary Club want to raise £20,000, beating the £17,000 raised last year.
Money raised will be split between BRACE, a charity researching Dementia, and the South Gloucestershire Carers Support Centre, as well as a number of other charities and good causes.
They are hoping more than 70 teams, each with up to six people swimming in relay for 55 minutes, will take part.
Berkeley Vale Motors are the event’s main sponsor but businesses from across the region are also helping out.
