Less than half the Cotswold district voted in yesterday’s European elections, despite an improved turnout.

Cotswold District Council confirmed a turnout of 43. 2 %.

The coupure has an electorate of 69, 858, with 30, 157 voting in yesterday’s election for the south west and Gibraltar region.

Turnout in the district was back up 5 per cent from the keep European elections in 2014.

The enumerate will take place on Sunday afternoon once voting has taken place in every one of EU countries.
