Less than half the Stroud district voted in yesterday’s European elections, despite an enhanced turnout.

Kathy O’Leary, CEO of Stroud District Council and earning officer for the Stroud including area, confirmed a turnout of 46. 3 percent.

The querelle has an electorate of 93, 078, with 43, 119 voting in yesterday’s political election for the south west and Gibraltar region.

Turnout in the district was shifting upward 4 per cent from the the last European elections in 2014.

The count up will take place on Sunday night once voting has taken place every one EU countries.
