‘Life-changing’ attack outside Cheltenham Racecourse during Festival

During the annual racing festival a man was attacked by a group of strangers.

The assault left him with what Gloucestershire Constabulary has described as life-changing injuries to his wrist.

This happened at around 6pm on Thursday, March 16 – half an hour after the final race of the day.

It is understood that the victim was walking towards the coach park when he was approached by a group of unknown men and attacked.

He fell to the floor and was kicked, sustaining a broke wrist which required an operation.

The incident took place near to the Racecourse roundabout.

The victim also had his jacket, which contained a rose gold diamond ring, stolen.

Police say the offending group was made up of four men, one described as black and two others described as white with ginger hair.

Gloucestershire Constabulary is now looking to hear from anyone who witnesses the attack, who hasn’t already been in touch.

The force is also looking for anyone who was driving past at the time and has dashcam footage which they feel may be relevant.
