STROUD in Bloom volunteers continued with their mission ‘to keep Stroud blossoming’’ on Sunday morning.
Flowers were not on the agenda this time, rather the nitty gritty of clearing up litter.
After meeting in Parliament Street car park, the team headed out, armed with bin bags and litter picking sticks.
“What a fabulous litter pick,” SIB chair Caroline Ractliffe said afterwards.
“It went really well. We had about 25 pickers, including five children, and we collected about 17 bags of litter.
“Waitrose kindly provided us with sandwich lunches.
“Thank you to all the wonderful folk who helped.”
Caroline, who runs Intrigue and Mosaic in Kendrick Street, recently took over the SIB chair role.
She said Stroud in Bloom’s ethos is to make Stroud a better place to visit, live and work.
They plan to green grey areas, promote bee-friendly planting, and create initiatives to support good mental health and less isolation within the community.
“If anyone would like to be involved please message me by email email@example.com,” she said.
