SINCE founding Global Furniture in 1993, company owners Paul and Sally, have not looked back.

Global Furniture is an independent, family run furniture importer/retailer with its main warehouse and showroom on the Ebley Bypass in Ryeford, Stonehouse and a showroom in Fountain Street, Nailsworth, and in keeping with its name the company has done business all over the world.

Paul said: “We used to be more of a national business with a lot of retail shops and we travelled around the world importing many containers which we used to wholesale all over the country but we have recently downsized, enabling the company to concentrate on doing business in the local area to benefit local residents.

“Acquiring and developing the site at Ryeford and making the extensive alterations to it was a proud moment for us.

“It’s really great that we have been able to make it into our main showroom and warehouse.

“I think one of the reasons for our success is that we deal directly with our customers with a small turnover of staff who get to know everyone.

“A container will now come into our yard in Ryeford where we unload it and our customers can see the product, buy it and we put it in their car for them – there is no middle man.

“Using our experience that we’ve gained over the last 30 years we still buy directly from personally sourced factories in the Far East, along with other companies in Europe and the UK.”

Paul’s idea to start his own company developed after he started working for a local furniture importer/retailer as a teenager.

“I have been in the industry since I was 14 and I set up my first shop in the early 1990s and it went on from there,” he said.

Paul and Sally’s son Laurie has also recently joined the family business and they all are looking forward to another 30 years of serving the community.
