
The incident is alleged to have taken place on July 22 last year.
The man is charged with possessing a lock knife in London Road without good reason or lawful authority contrary to the Criminal Justice Act 1988.
Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court heard the case on on December 7 and will now be heard at Gloucester Crown Court on January 13.
According to Ask the Police, it is an offence to carry any sharp or bladed instrument in a public place, with the exception of a folding pocket knife where the cutting edge of the blade is 7.62 cm (3 inches) or less.
