AN 87-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with historic sexual offences against a girl under the age of 14.
The man from Stroud is charged with carrying out an act of gross indecency towards or with the girl between January 1, 1973 and December 31, 1978.
He is also charged with indecently assaulting the girl during the same period.
The man is charged under the Indecency with Children Act 1960 and the Sexual Offences Act 1956.
He is also charged with stalking the alledged victim by turning up at her home uninvited between January 1, 2017 and April 30, 2019.
The case was heard at Cheltenham Magistrates on December 13 but the defendant was not present – it was adjourned to February 13, 2023.
