A MAN has been arrested in Cirencester after attempt was made to throttle a police officer.
The officer, a member of the Cirencester Neighbourhood Police Team, was on duty in the town this afternoon when the incident took place.
The officer is understood to be recovering well.
Cotswold Police tweeted: “A Cirencester NPT officer has been assaulted on duty in the town.
“The officer was throttled by a male. A man was later arrested for Assault of Police.”
