Man must pay more than £1k for hurling religious abuse

Jordan Risby, aged 22, of Middle Mead, Preston near Cirencester, pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive behaviour in court last week.

The incident occurred in Cirencester on Friday, December 30. 

He was charged under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court found that this offence was religiously aggravated when the case was heard on Thursday, April 13. 

Risby was fined £600, must pay £100 in compensation and must also pay a £240 victim services surcharge plus £85 costs – a total of £1,025.
