The technical director for Gloucester-based software and business intelligence experts River Agency, Mr Brown couldn’t quite believe what had happened.

“It’s my first ever hole in one,” the 34-year-old said.

“It felt like a bit of a dream, even when I was standing by the car, I couldn’t quite believe what was happening.

The prize for playing a hole in one at the 10th hole was a BME 116d Sport car worth £25,000, courtesy of Cotswold Cheltenham BMW.

“My family all thought it was a bit of a joke when I told them.

“I have only been playing golf for three years and to get a hole in one and win a car is amazing,” Chris said.

The annual golf day raised over £10,000 for The Nelson Trust, which will be used to provide support for people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction at the abstinence-based treatment centre.

John Trolan, the charity’s CEO said: “It was such a great moment when Chris aced the 10th.

“This is the first time anyone has ever won the car at our golf day.”

“We must extend our thanks to the team at Minchinhampton Golf Club who looked after us on the day and our sponsors Cotswold BMW and Ardent,” John said.
