NAILSWORTH Chamber of Trade has sprung into action to help its local community with a tip-top meal delivery service.
A talented team of chefs – Ben Sibbald from Tetbury catering company Ben’s Kitchen, and Richard Davies and his chefs from Calcot Manor – are cooking up a range of frozen dishes, delivered straight to customers’ doors.
The meals cost £25 for seven; and all profits will be used to provide the same range for free to key workers, as well as to vulnerable residents who would not otherwise be able to afford them.
“Nailsworth Chamber of Trade is all about supporting the community, and we’ve decided that this is one of the best ways we can help during the current Covid-19 crisis,” said Sarah Martin.
“We hope the service will be helpful for people who are unable to get out, or simply those who feel like a foodie treat. All our chefs hold a top food hygiene rating, and they’ve been working tirelessly to create these superb meals that we hope will not only be useful, but supply a bit of much-needed enjoyment, too.”
Currently delivering in Nailsworth, Amberley, Woodchester and Minchinhampton, the paid-for service is particularly aimed at:
• People self-isolating;
• People who are nervous about going out in public or are being asked to minimise contact (over 70+ or in an at-risk category).
“We’ll then be using profits to deliver free meals to people identified as being in need by organisations and charities working with them, as well as to people whose carers can no long visit them.
“And we’ll be supplying at no charge to NHS staff and emergency workers who would benefit from them. We’re coordinating with emergency services and Price’s Mill Surgery in Nailsworth,” Sarah Martin said.
“Every meal purchased, or any donation of food, will help finance free meals for those in our community who need it the most.”
Dietary requirements will be catered for where possible, and all meals come with full reheating instructions.
