It was revealed on BBC Points West that the hotel will be known as The Stroud.
Double edged sword for developers behind The Imperial in Stroud. It’s one of six in the country given special listed status for the Queen’s Jubilee. But it’ll push budget to nearly 2m to turn it into a boutique hotel. Tonight we’ll also reveal the new name Points West! pic.twitter.com/fdLE4fCcxk

The Imperial Hotel is one of just six sites across the country which have been newly listed.
It has been listed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) on Historic England’s advice, in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Built in 1863, the Imperial Hotel was designed by local Stroud architect Benjamin Becknall.
