House of Horrors killer Rose West is on a Made in Essex style low-carb, diet after becoming obese in jail.
Sources say her weight has ballooned so badly that she sometimes needs help to get off the toilet.
And they claim doctors have told the jailed mum that unless she sheds a few stone she faces serious health problems in later life.
According to the Daily Star, West has opted for the low carbohydrate ketogenic diet to lose weight fast.
It is the kind of diet favoured by celebrity Kim Kardashian and the stars of The Only Way Is Essex, TOWIE.
The TOWIE cast coined the phrase ‘No Carbs Before Marbs’ because it was the regime they used to lose weight fast before their annual holiday to the Spanish resort Marbella.
West will not be going to Marbs any time soon because she is unlikely to ever be released, but she has still opted for a ‘no carbs behind bars’ approach to try and shed the pounds fast.
Rose already suffers from high blood pressure and risks developing heart disease and type 2 diabetes unless she loses weight. say medics.
Since being jailed in in 1995 for murdering 10 victims she has grown too fond of a diet of crisps and chocolate and even won a cake baking competition while in prison.
Sources at Low Newton Prison in Durham say the 65-year-old is now officially obese and has been told she needs to switch to nutritious foods such as fish, salads and vegetables if she wants to improve her health.
One jail source told the Daily Star: “West has been told on a number of occasions that she is dangerously overweight.
“She has opted to go on the keto diet, which promises rapid weight loss quickly if you stick strictly to the rules.
“She is so heavy that she is often out of breath and sometimes has to have help getting off the toilet.”
