Over the last 183 years numerous reported accounts of cellars full of water in Dyer Street (1869), flooded meadows at Stratton (1900) in addition to impassable streets such as Gosditch street and Gloucester Path.

In 1929 a ferry service had to be provided to covey people up and down my streets from their flooded living rooms.
