An eighteen year old Gloucester girl has been backed with Stroud hero Eddie some Eagle Edwards in his bid for Winter Olympic stardom in a bobsleigh.

Éire Rowland-Evans is hoping to get neighborhood business sponsorship to help the girls move forward with her ambition to make sure you compete with the British Fermeture team at the 2026 Olympics in Italy.

Last year Éire competed for the British Guide Youth team at Foreign level and finished season with a World Ranking of the 20th. But her Being young Olympic bid was hurt short when she dealt with a fracture to her collar-bone in training.

Unfortunately for Eire, the British ladies guide development team is getting only real minimal funding at present so very Éire will have to self-fund the actual time on ice.

“I version currently at University in just Swansea and all my time period is spent studying or even training, ” she thought. “My parents have given a hand to as much as they can but with my father being chronically ill it had been hard on them.

“As an elite patient I am permitted to having said that travel for international competitions, but presently am unable to afford to do so.

“Bobsleigh is an exclusive sport. I was hoping to maintain on Monobob (as it is performing its debut at the 2022 Olympics) but as it’s a more discipline you have to buy your actually own sled at around £25, 000!

“Whereas with 2 female patient you can rent a sled for under £1, 000. I will very grateful to Eddie for supporting me a substantial we actually have a lot in accordance, coming from the same part of the complete, both very much the underdogs and both without borrowing to pursue our dreams”
