Planespotters are being urged to stay at home after a number of people were spotted parked near an airport for the arrival of a plane.

The layby on the A429 was reportedly jammed full of cars today near the Cotswold Airport, based outside of Kemble, for the arrival of BA747-400.

Today’s arrival was the third B747-400 series to land at the airport this week, with all reportedly destined for Air Salvage International.

A spokesman for the airport said: “Please, please, please, can everyone abide by the government direction to stay at home, do so.

“I know its really attractive to come and watch the aircraft land, but the layby on the A429 was jammed full of cars today – not exactly social distancing.

“Please be considerate, we will post video and photos to keep you all informed.

“This is done so that you can stay at home.”
