Police guard in place following death of man in Gloucester

A police guard is in place at an address in Gloucester following the death of a man which is being treated as suspicious.

Police were called to Clare Street at 1.45pm on Wednesday (29 September) after concerns had been raised for the welfare of a resident.

Upon attendance a man aged in his 50s was found deceased within a property. The Coroner’s Office and the man’s family are aware.

Detective Chief Inspector John Turner said: “Our detectives are working hard to piece together what has happened and we appreciate that the local community may be concerned by this.

“Searches will be taking place in the area over the coming days which will result in an enhanced police presence and so people will see more police in the surrounding area.
