Police investigating death of baby boy in Berkeley

AN INVESTIGATION is underway after a baby boy died in Berkeley yesterday morning, Sunday.

Emergency services attended a property in Fishers Road, Berkeley, shortly after 10.40am where the death of a baby boy was confirmed.

The ambulance service called the police who are treating his death as ‘unexplained’.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said yesterday: “Police were called by the ambulance service shortly after 10.40am on Sunday in relation to a medical emergency at an address in Fishers Road in Berkeley.

“Sadly, a young baby boy was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“Officers are currently investigating the death and the circumstances are being treated as unexplained at this time.

“The baby’s next of kin are aware and the coroner has been informed.”

Fishers Road in Berkeley is located in a quiet suburban neighbourhood near Canon Park.
