This Great Dane sitting in the front passenger seat of a car attracted the attention of police in Stroud during ‘Operation Restraint’ to catch speeders and drink drivers.
The dog’s owner was given ‘words of advice’ about having the gigantic pet up front in the car.
Officers in Stroud tweeted this picture of the gigantic black and white pooch, inquisitively sticking his nose out of the partially open window.
The canine passenger drew the attention of special constables during ‘Operation Restraint’ in the Lightpill and Nailsworth areas when the officers were out looking for drink drivers and speeders.
Lots of cars were stopped but there were no positive breath tests, said the police.
“One driver was booked for doing 53mph (in a 40) near Nailsworth. A fine and points were issued for a bald tyre on an Astra at Lightpill,” they tweeted.
“One driver received words of advice when officers found their front seat passenger was a Great Dane.”
The Great Dane picture has so far received fourteen likes and a retweet.
One reader, Karl, queried “Would it count if the dog was wearing a seatbelt:-)?”
