South Gloucestershire has a rich history: You can learn about our place in aviation history at Aerospace Bristol, the home of Concorde. We have a selection of local museums and heritage attractions, including the Winterbourne Medieval Barn.
There are a variety of different walks throughout South Gloucestershire.
The Bristol and Bath Railway Path is ideal if you’re on foot or riding a bike. It’s a 13 mile green artery that links the two cities, which is flat and traffic free, so perfect for families with children. The route follows an old railway line and as it runs through the heart of South Gloucestershire it’s easily accessible from places like Staple Hill, Soundwell and Warmley and connects to other routes on the National Cycle Network.
South Gloucestershire is also ideally placed to visit the surrounding areas of Bath, Bristol, Somerset and the Cotswolds.
