HEAVY rain and thunder are predicted across Gloucestershire this afternoon as Storm Miguel heads for the South West.

A ‘severe’ Yellow weather warning for rain, from 2pm until 11pm today, has been issued by the Met Office who say some roads and homes could be flooded.

Thunderstorms will hit the area from around 4pm to 7pm.

Those travelling by car could face longer journey times with spray and flooding on roads, while public transport may also be affected.

Forecasters also say some interruption to power supplies and other services are likely.

Over the weekend:

And Sunday will see a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, these will be heavy and possibly thundery.
