The Simpsons branch in Quedgeley, which only opened in February, shut last week.
“As I’m sure you are aware by now, we have sadly had to make the incredibly difficult decision to close our shop in Quedgeley,” said the owners.
“We were busier than ever but with quadrupling energy costs as well as steep rises in produce this has meant we could no longer sustain this business.
“We have had so much fun serving you all and really enjoyed being a part of this community – thank you for being so supportive and welcoming.
“Our family need some time to heal from the impact this will have on us and appreciate your kindness at this time.
“Meanwhile our other shops are still very much open, both only 20-30 minutes away with sit down facilities.”
Simpsons have a shop in the Stroud town centre and in Cheltenham.
