Stroud MP Siobhan Baillie has given her view on the government’s new covid measures for England.
As part of Plan B, working from home guidance will return, Covid health certificates are to become mandatory in large venues and mask rules will be extended to combat the Omicron variant, Boris Johnson announced in yesterday’s news conference
Siobhan Baillie has this afternoon spoken against her own government’s measures on social media.
“I do not support Plan B now, nor do I believe it has been justified based on the information we currently have available.
“The additional restrictions that have been put in place damage confidence and will cause cancellations for businesses at such a crucial time of year.
“Life events like weddings will also suffer and the consequences of this are vast.
“Whilst wearing masks and working from home may seem easy for some, there are personal, financial and health costs attached for so many people.
“Vaccine passports will also create more problems than they solve and presently I see no evidence that they have stopped the spread of Covid in other places.
“We must rely on the tremendous vaccination programme that we have here in the UK and learn to live with this virus.”
