A CARE home in Stroud is inviting the community to an art-themed open day.
Scarlet House care home, on Westward Road, is opening its doors to the local community to celebrate their annual open day on Friday, June 28, from 10am to 5pm.
Care UK, the group behind Scarlet House, run open days in their homes every year to try and create links between care homes, their residents, and their communities.
This year’s open day is a celebration of the role of arts within care.
The team at Scarlet House has organised an art-themed party, with entertainment, activities and creative fun for all.
Visitors can look forward to intergenerational activities, with a special visit from the Coop Day Nursery children.
Local students will also be creating mosaic pictures with residents.
There will also be a barbecue for visitors to enjoy.
Kate Stevens, home manager at Scarlet House, said: “Everyone at Scarlet House is so excited to welcome the local community in for our care home open day.
“This year’s theme of ‘celebrating arts in care’ is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase all the brilliant activities we get up to on a daily basis here at Scarlet House, such as arts and crafts, so we hope that lots of local people will join us.”
