THE team at mydentist in Stroud have challenged themselves to raise £1,000 for NHS Charities Together by cycling the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats on a stationary bike.

Although the Nelson Street practice isn’t open for routine dental treatment, the team are operating a skeleton staff and are still working on a rota basis to provide telephone advice to patients in need of emergency care.

Staff plan to take it in turns to ride the exercise bike, which will be fully cleaned between turns, with the challenge beginning on Monday, May 11.

The team have raised just under £400 so far as they aim to cover the 874 miles in just eight days.

The money will support the NHS staff and volunteers working right now in caring for Covid-19 patients.

As they can’t accept cash donations they’re hoping people will support them and donate through bit.ly/3dlHuvZ
