While filming is currently paused due to Covid-19 restrictions, opportunities are coming up through the Stroud Film Festival to meet film makers through online events.

Let’s Talk Directing with Marc Jobst is an opportunity to find out all about the world of directing.

Marc’s work includes the recent Netflix hit The Witcher as well as HOME, the innovative project about young homeless people in Bristol.

Marc will be discussing all aspects about the job of directing, drawing on experience from the shows he’s directed for studios ranging from Marvel, Netflix, Amazon, NBC, Hulu and Paramount/Epix, through to BBC, Sky and ITV.

He will be there to take part in discussions about all aspects of directing. He may also share some of the obstacles, battles, triumphs and pure magic of the process of fiction film-making.

Marc started in theatre then worked as a producer/director at the BBC for 10 years.

An independent director for 20 years, his recent credits include Daredevil, The Punisher, Luke Cage for Marvel Studios/Netflix, Tin Star with Tim Roth for Amazon/Sky, Hannibal with Mads Mikkelson and Laurence Fishburne for NBC, and Berlin Station with Rhys Ifans, Richard Jenkins and Ashley Judd for Epix/Paramount.

Assistant director Marcus Collier has 25 years experience in bringing ideas to our cinema and tv screens.

Marcus has many fascinating stories and useful insights for those interested in the film industry and those who’d like to be part of it.

He will also answer your questions about everything to do with being a 1st A.D.
